Coffee with a Side of Advocacy

Coffee with a Side of Advocacy

North Campus | SHA 020

October 2, 2026 at 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM

Free coffee and the chance to discuss what affects you

Join us for a free coffee meetup where the topics on the table are the ones that directly impact your wallet, your commute, and your degree! We're serving up hot coffee courtesy of Olive Branch alongside deliberately blunt conversation starters on major campus and provincial issues—including OSAP funding, DRT transit reliability, AI bans, housing affordability, rising school fees, and campus wellness supports.

There's no script, no filter, and no pressure to have a polished opinion—just students talking honestly about what's working and what isn't. To wrap things up, the Student Advocacy Advisory Committee (SAAC) will host a roundtable discussion, ensuring your feedback gets carried directly into the advocacy work OTSU brings to the university and the province.

Plus, this session falls right in the middle of OUSA's provincial OSAP survey window (open until October 8). You can complete the survey on the spot to make sure Ontario Tech's voice is heard when pushing for real changes to student funding.

Event Highlights

  • Free Coffee & Casual Vibe: Enjoy a beverage while connecting with other students in a low-pressure space.

  • Open, Honest Discussion: Voice your candid views on key student funding, transit, and housing issues without judgment.

  • OSAP Survey Station: Complete the provincial OSAP survey on site to put your funding concerns on the record.
  • SAAC Roundtable: Have your input translated into direct student advocacy priorities.

Date: Thursday, October 2
