OTSU 2024 Black History Month Events
All month long, the OTSU is celebrating Black History month with events and programming that celebrates our Black community. Black History Month is a time to honour and celebrate the experiences, accomplishments, culture and rich history of Black Canadians, combat anti-Black racism, and is an opportunity to work toward change.
This year, the OTSU presents "Legacy Builders" to celebrate Black Ontario Tech students in several ways, including offering the Black Excellence in Leadership Award, hosting a Black games night and BHM-themed Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune events, highlighting Black student community leaders, providing information sessions featuring what Black alumni are up to post graduation, and creating Legacy Builders Edition 1, a digital magazine from Black student submissions highlighting fashion, cultural wear, athletics, and much more!
